Teapster is born

It started exactly a year ago. Although I loved my job and found it gratifying to work with our partners and customers, I wanted out. I wasn't aligned with all the decisions that were being made. I didn't appreciate working with all the colleagues. The vision and mission of the company were slowly becoming not more than just empty words.

After almost ten years it dawned on me that after all it wasn't my company. Why was I putting in all the long hours and all the effort into something that wasn't benefiting me? That wasn't benefiting the society as a whole?

I started following Shopify and the success stories of the Shopify businesses and slowly came to the conclusion that I wanted to be a part of it.

That's how, in July 2020, Teapster was born.

I built a simple business plan based on a few assumptions:

  • SEO will grow to 20% of PPC traffic
  • social traffic will grow to 50% of SEO
  • overall conversion rate will be 1%
  • AOV will be of 15 EUR

I will review the assumptions regularly to see how I'm doing.
