Since the launch at the beginning of September I received quite a lot of traffic (Shopify says that in terms of traffic I'm in the top 16% of stores launched at the same time, yeah) but not that many sales.
Looking into it in more detail, I have noticed a high number of abandoned checkout - my checkout conversion rate was only 8.6%.
This means that from 100 people entering the checkout, only 8.6 were completing the order.
I decided to test free shipping - as shipping is one of the main reason why a buyer would abandon checkout, with free shipping they would have no reason not to complete the order!
However, applying free shipping meant increasing the prices... And now it's my go to checkout rate that went down from 27.5% to 2.9%...
